Oh yeah. That's the most creative title EVER. :)
After a tiring week, training today was....alright. It could've been better - longer training or higher team morale. But that's the way life goes right? You get a little, you give a little.
Okay, so due to time restraints, we managed to do 2 drills after warm ups: triangle passing for the guys and....*sighs* (haha) the cones (ball control) for the juniors and gals. Because ultimately our greatness weakness is: the basics. I know it sounds cliche' (by now of course), but until we get those down, we don't stand a chance.
We also continued on our 200-passes ....
Around 2.00 PM, we went straight to games; this time all the teams going against each other so that we can gain proper game experience.
Pemuda sedang mengamati perlawanan bola lantai....
First game - Hamid Khan guys versus the girls. The catch? The guys couldn't dribble the ball once they received it....= they had to rely on looking up and passing properly. Important.
The goal was set up differently - hit either the two cones at the top corners of the goal, the stick on top of the goal or the ball bag on the ground. Defending team had to do push-ups for every goal in.
Debriefing had to take place outside today due to the fact that the kind Malay lady who always sits outside ushered us out. And the people who came to decorate the hall for a Chinese wedding later were rushing in.
Congrats to the happy couple! We hope you don't mind the stench of our sweat on the walls, stage and floor, yeah? That's what'cha paid for anyways right...
With sounds of inflating balloons in the background, Gary debriefed us about continuing to work on skill and technique. Alex reminded us to "keep our mental" during games, and to not lose our cool, with reference to an incident during SUKPEN.
Hopefully all of us will recover from defeat over the weekend and strive to play with our heads, not our hearts, the next time round. Thank you to our loyal supporters and our spirited players....and remember - if you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain.
....and apparently a lot of it.
